    The Inaugural Lesbians of Color Symposium @ Harvard Law School

    In celebration of Women’s History Month, please join the Hispanic Black Gay Coalition (HBGC) and fellow lesbians/queer identified women for Boston’s Inaugural Lesbians of Color Symposium.  We invite you to participate in a series of workshops designed to solidify our culture and strengthen our presence within the LGBTQ community. Allies are welcome! 

    "Guest speakers, including the event’s keynote speaker, Mandy Carter. A renowned social justice advocate, Carter was nominated for a Nobel peace prize in 2005 for her work in advancing racial justice, LGBTQ equality, and women’s rights. Other special guest will include Alyssa Asomani, Editor In Chief of Stud Magazine and Ryann Holmes and Genesis Tramaine, Founders of Bklyn Boihood - a collective that creates visibility and builds community within masculine of center  bois, lesbians, queers, trans-identified, studs, doms, butches and AGs of color through online media, events, workshops and collaborative projects." --Rainbow Times

    Join us at the Hetrick Martin Institute on Wednesday, February 22nd @ 5:00pm for an amazing Black History Month event! Ryann Holmes and Sebastian Flowers of bklyn boihood be joining a diverse group of  panelist in discussing "passing" in the black community.

    The Hetrick-Martin Institute believes all young people, regardless of sexual orientation or identity, deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to achieve their full potential. Hetrick-Martin creates this environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 12 and 24 and their families.

    Through a comprehensive package of direct services and referrals, Hetrick-Martin seeks to foster healthy youth development. Hetrick-Martin’s staff promotes excellence in the delivery of youth services and uses its expertise to create innovative programs that other organizations may use as models.

    Queer My Blog @ NYU

    NYU Pride Month is proud to host the Queer My Blog panel event, featuring panelist who represent the most popular independent queer blogs on the internet. Moderated by student blogger Sophia House, Queer My Blog is an interactive panel that takes a look at the role online blogs have in shaping 21st century queer identities and how digital space can serve as a site of cultural production. Panelists will take us through a tour of their online community, engage in a dialogue on the intricacies of the online world and what it takes to run a successful queer website with a pertinent presence in the online and offline LGBTQ communities. Our guests for the evening include Riese Bernard of Autostraddle.com, Morgan W. and Ryann Holmes from BklynBoihood.com, and Danielle Owens-Reid and Kristin Russo of EveryoneIsGay.com.


    The event will take place at 7pm at the Kimmel Student Center, room 906. This event is FREE, OPEN to the public, and wheelchair ACCESSIBLE!

    We're looking for blog-nerds and digital enthusiasts as well as anyone who just enjoys intelligent, funny, and engaging panelists. The audience will be able to ask questions all night long, so don't be shy!

    Queerocracy Symposium @ the New School

    QUEEROCRACY held a public symposium co-sponsored by the New School’s Global Studies Program and the Lang Student Union on Saturday, April 16th and Sunday, April 17th 2011. The purpose of the event was to create a space for public discussion of gender/queer body and identity politics and to provide strategies for grass roots organization around these issues. 

    bbh founders Genesis Tramaine and Ryann Holmes spoke at the symposium and shared their experience in founding the bklyn boihood collective.
